Buying DHA Property

Here we provide some handy tips and information about how to buy a tenanted DHA property.

When you buy a Defence Housing Australia (DHA) leased property from us, you also enter into a lease agreement with Defence Housing Australia who provide housing for the Australian Defence Force Australia wide. This means your tenant is the Australian Defence Force, so either Army, Navy or Air force. Being backed by the Australian Government you never have any worries about securing a quality tenant, your property is managed and maintained for you with most maintenance costs coved by DHA as part of their management obligation, your rent is paid 365 days of the year through out the lease term and in most cases, even if the property is vacant . DHA (Defence Housing Australia) leased properties are one of the most secure property investments available in Australia today.

Buying a DHA (Defence Housing Australia) is similar to buying any residential property in Australia however the lease forms part of the contract of sale.

In order to protect the privacy and security of the Defence family occupying the property, we do not advertise the street address or conduct ‘open house’ style inspections. However, a location map, with street map and satellite images, can be viewed.

Sales process

There is no need for you to inspect the property; the majority of our investors don’t. However, after you have paid your holding deposit, this can be arranged if you wish.
